While watching this video, Randy Pausch shares many things about his life and the goals he has set for the future. His speech mainly focuses on how important it is to learn from your past experiences whether good or bad. Everything you do in life you learn from it. All throughout your life, you will continue to learn new things everyday. Randy also talks about good effective ways to teach. When we are teaching, it is important that we learn from our students. It may seem weird to think we can learn from children but it is very possible. They can really help you with developing good teaching methods for them that will help them learn better in the classroom. If you are very open with your students and listen to their opinions, you can learn a lot from them. Listening to this lecture was an inspiration to me and will definitely help me in the future.

As I watched the videos, I learned a couple new thinga about PLN. PLN's are basically social networks where people can share their knowledge, ideas, and opinions with other people all around the world. There are many different ways that teachers can use PLN to be helpful to their classroom. Facebook, Twitter, Blogs, and Pintrest are all different social networks that teachers can use to get ideas for the classroom. This is a good way to connect with other teachers and ask them for adive and ideas on certain topics they are teaching. Just about everyone in the world has at least one social network. Once you have created one, then you can start exploring and meeting new people. PLN is a great way to develop new friends and ideas around the world. Once I become an educator, I plan to expand my personal learning networks.

Blog Post 5: What can we learn from Anthony Capps?

From watching the videos, I learned that it is important to let your job be a fun experience for you. It is a hard job but you have to make it fun and develop skills that make your job easier on you. Also, it's good to be creative with your work and make things interesting in the classroom. While teaching you are trying to keep your student's attention by getting them very engaged in the lesson that you are teaching. One point that I really liked that Anthony talked about was about Steven Cubby 's statement about "starting with the end in mind". This is very true because things are not always going to go as planned; but dont just give up when it doesn't. It's important to still be flexible as well and try different things out that will help you accompish it. Getting all the students engaged is very important because you want them to be motivated to learn new things. Technology is expanding everyday in the world and things are charging rapidly, so it is important to stay up to date with the new technology tools that are out today. I also learned that you should not teach technology in class but use assingments that will have to deal with them using different pieces of technology. This is a good way to combine both by learning the material that is asked and also how to work with technology tools. Also, this helps them learn things on their own about technology and gets them used to the tools that are out there in the world. Of course they are not going to be perfect when using these tools, but giving them different activities that require these tools to be used will help them get better with perfection.

While going over the different sources about "What do we need to know about asking questions to be an effective teacher?", I learned many different things about how teacher's questions can sometimes confuse students just by how they word their information. For teachers, they have to really make sure they beak down the material very thoroughly to their students so they will be able to comprehend it well. When teachers ask their students questions, they also have to make sure that they are being very specific when they are asking questions during the class discussion. Some examples I found on how to improve on asking questions are "yes or no" questions, "direct and complexity" questions, "mix of questions", and many more. Using these strategies will really help students build depth and complexity. Asking questions during discussions will also help students become more interactive in the discussions and help improve their learning skills. Questions that you should avoid in the classroom are "leading questions". These type of questions suggest its own answer and discourages the students from thinking on their own. Also during class discussions, it is good to avoid asking more than one question at a time because the students will not know which question to answer. These strategies that I have reviwed are very helpful for when teachers want to create questions for exams, discussions, and paper assingments. It is also good to encourage your students to use these question strategies to help with their thinking skills as well. teacher pointing at students
